ShowRaum A solo show. 11th March. Showing a large selection of works that drift between being art object and lighting appliance.... Most of these items are made using found objects, reconditioning and combining materials to produce something to be displayed in a domestic setting. Although they should not be considered as appliances or works of art they might be viewed as something in between. They do provide light (if you plug them in), and are all one of a kind (if not part of an evolving series). They incorporate the idea of the ready made, questioning what is waste and what is worth... just call them lamps if you like, something or another. Currently working in Berlin 1/1/12 - Made a bunch more stuff that you can see some of here and the kind people behind jpeople magasine included a feature on me and my work in thier latest edition. Here is a clipping. 18/7/11 - Quite few things happend recently; a mention and image in Das Design Buch Berlin 2011/2012, An Interview with Semidomesticated as well as another show with them; Funky Fresh. Also a group ShopShow with ShowRaum with some new work in it. You can also buy some of my objects from their website as well as at their store. Something in book from way back for the photographer Antonio Nodar. And finally some documentation of new furniture and lighting. 17/4/11 - I will have a few lighting disign works at Semidomesticated for thier show and sell event on the 23rd along with some other designers also working with related material re-use processes. 7/2/11 - Over the last few months I have been concentrating more on making things, steering more towards the design side of my practice with a few commissions and allot more lamps made. I was happy to have this link inart-magazine.de and I am looking forward to do a show at ShowRaum in early March. I have not updated my news in over a year which is really bad but it has taken that long to resolve some computer issues... sorry! It was great to work with TamTamTam, IMT, and Whippit last year. I hope to update you better through 2011. 21/1/10 - For the last few months I have been working towards a new multi functional space in Berlin which is now up and running. Im also looking forward to exhibiting 'Its only rock and roll but I like it' , a new work at the next Collision festival. This time in the Bussey Building, an old Victorian gun factory in Peckham on the 22nd of August and... You can also view a new lamp here 23/3/2009 - Due to not updating this for ages this is what Im doing now. It was a pleasure to revisit an old work for an event at Elevator gallery recently. I have made DVDs of the remake of Chained to TV; Chained 2 TV in an edition of 25 that can be purchased if you get in contact. House sitting in London again after a stint in Berlin. Now developing a new piece with the working title 'Its only rock and roll but I like it' as-well as a track for a project in Strasbourg concerning the Tour de France. 21/10/08 - After doing a bunch of shows recently I am now trying to sort out some of the documentation. An image of the PG1 can now be seen through the selected artwork page. 8/8/2008 - Over the last month or so I have been clocking up some studio time, making a new piece called the PG1 that will be shown in september in Collision Festival. I am now house sitting in East London and still working on this damn website. 6/6/2008 - Human Separation travel to Cormwall to perform at Live Art Falmouth. 13/4/2008 - I am at this moment, house sitting a studio in london, Kensington and trying to learn how to make this damn website. During the week I am restoring antiques to keep the money coming in. |
